Job Description
The position of Legal Process Server is an entry-level position that requires a time commitment of between 15 to 40 hours per week. Once you're on the road it is up to you to complete the assignments accurately and completely and explain any difficulties which kept you from doing so.
The job requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow instructions closely yet think independently on your feet. Your driving record must be clean except for the following: no more than one minor violation allowed during the previous three years; no more than two minor violations during the previous five years; and no major violations during the previous five years. A working knowledge of Twin Cities geography is extremely helpful.
Each day approximately 50 shifts (or "runs" as we call them) are scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. in either our Minneapolis or St. Paul offices. They start throughout the day and last between three to eight hours, depending on the type and number of requests contained in each run. Shifts scheduled to begin after 4:00 may last until 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. and you will be expected to complete or attempt all of the assignments you are given. The assignment of shifts is flexible to meet odd scheduling needs on the part of our employees. Priority in the assignment of these shifts is given to top performers and people with flexible schedules and a demonstrated willingness to work. We require that everyone work a minimum of three shifts per week, up to a maximum of ten.
